The mat is weighted enough to stay put on most floors. On smooth hardwood, the stitched edge gives it grip. If your cat is a power-scratcher and you want it locked in, a small rug pad underneath does the trick.

Shake or vacuum loose fiber as it sheds with use. Spot-clean with a damp cloth and let it air-dry fully before your cat uses it again. No machine wash.

Natural fiber wears down where your cat scratches most — that's the point, better the mat than your couch. Most cats get many months to a year of daily use out of it before the weave starts to fray noticeably.
