No. Each dish holds a normal portion of wet food comfortably. It is not the right dish for water, though. For water you want something with more depth.
The dishes sit flat and low. A determined cat can still shift any dish this size, so put it somewhere it can back into a wall if that is a problem.

It has low edges which is ideal to prevent the cat's whiskers from getting in the way while eating. The only drawback is that, since there is no non-slip rubber on the bottom, the bowl moves around. Easy to clean.
