How long do scratchers last?

How do I keep my scratcher clean?
Vacuum loose fibers and cardboard crumbs as the scratcher breaks in (totally normal — that's the surface doing its job). Wipe wood frames and woven surfaces with a damp cloth. No machine wash.
Will it slide around on the floor?
Our scratchers are weighted to stay put on most floors. On smooth hardwood, the stitched edges of the Halo Scratch Mat and the wide bases of the Arc Lounger and Wave Scratcher keep them stable. If your cat is a power-scratcher, a small rug pad underneath locks it down.
